Young Driver Suitability Assessments
You or your child are wondering what options are available but also need to check if it is possible to drive.
Both DriveAbility Scotland and the SMART Centre conduct assessments for capability for individuals and will suggest what adaptations may be required.
We are happy to discuss options and once lessons start, each individual is just that, an individual and each one learns in different ways at different speeds. Patience and confidence are just as important as learning the basics of controlling a car.
Other worries may involve financing the additional equipment. Disability Driving Instructors (DDI) have an excellent advice page here.
In Scotland if you are not eligible for Motability funding (higher level of DLA or PIP) then you can try the Independent Living Fund.
